Nashville SC will broadcast every home game and 10 away games on WUXP, Nashville’s MyTV30 affiliate, the team announced Friday.
“This partnership will bring Nashville Soccer Club to all of middle Tennessee,” said Nashville SC CEO Court Jeske in the team’s press release. “Demand for tickets this year is extremely high and we want to ensure that all fans can follow the club at home and on the road. Through our partners, Fox-17 and MyTV30, we are able to do that and bring Nashville SC into the homes of our fans, free of charge.”
Sinclair Communications owns WUXP, Fox-17 and Nashville’s CW station. In addition to game commentary on WUXP, coverage of the team will also appear on the local Fox affiliate and CW58.
Nashville SC opens its inaugural season in Louisville March 17 and plays its first-ever home game against Pittsburgh on the 24.
Match Times Updated
The team also updated its schedule Friday to include kickoff times for every match. The USL opener at Louisville will begin at 2 p.m.
We were impressed with the broadcast crew’s debut Saturday. Play-by-play announcer John Freeman — a broadcasting veteran who called some of the PDL team’s games last year — and color commentator Ronnie Woodard, a former Vandy coach, were insightful and enjoyable.
While there are kinks in any live broadcast — especially the first one — production quality was good and commentary was on point.
We’re particularly pleased that the team will cover 10 road games. Nashville SC continues to invest in outreach avenues that generate fan interest, and its broadcast partnership is no exception.
