Nashville SC Player Ratings: 3-1 Win Over Penn FC

Nashville SC stays unbeaten at home after a 3-1 win against Penn FC Saturday night. Here’s how the Speedway Soccer Pod team rated each player’s performance.

Players introduced after 80 minutes of play get a grade of N/A, 6 is an average grade and the grading scale is from 1-10.

Pickens – 8.0: Not his busiest night, but will probably win save of the week for an incredible block from close range. Not at fault on the Penn FC goal.

Kimura – 8.0: One of his better performances of the season. Got up and back effectively and contributed to the attack.

Bourgeois – 8.0: Very calm in defense and solid in the air. A typical defensive performance from him, but completed 87.7% of his passes – a high number by his standards. Nashville’s most in-form center back.

Doyle – 7.5: Always completes a high percentage of chances. Was a little too slow on the ball at times, and drew the ire of Matt Pickens for not pushing the tempo.

Davis – 8.5: Key to most of Nashville’s attacks in the first half. Really good showing.

Washington – 7.5: Played inverted on the right, where he’s not as comfortable. Used his pace to frustrate Penn’s back line and worked hard. Replaced by Alan Winn after 74 minutes.

LaGrassa – 8.0: Brings a different dynamic to this team with his creativity and passing. Dictated the tempo from a central position and found space well.

Reed – 7.5: Worked hard on both sides of the ball. Made several crucial tackles and had several good trailing runs into the box.

Jome – 8.5: Involved in many of Nashville’s best attacking moves. Set up Allen’s opener brilliantly with a fantastic run and cross, and found Moloto in the buildup to his goal. Strong showing. Came off for Akinyode after 59 minutes.

Allen – 9.5: An instinctive finisher. Only needs a half chance to score, and took his chance again tonight. Created two chances for his teammates, one of which was an assist for Moloto. Replaced by Mensah after 79 minutes.

Moloto – 9.0: In a really good run of form. Connected well with Allen and the central midfield, and played with a confidence reminiscent of his brace against Louisville City. Scored a beautiful curler to the top corner early in the second half that will surely be a contender for Nashville goal of the year.

Akinyode – 7.5: Brought on to solidify the midfield and did just that. Came on for Jome after 59 minutes and helped Nashville close the game out.

Winn – 8.5: Came on for Washington after 74 minutes, and brought energy and directness to the Boys in Gold. Scored one of the easiest goals of his career in the 80th minute, and missed one of the easiest chances of his career with the last kick of the game. Solid outing and hopefully the end of his time out with a toe injury.

Ropapa – 8.0: Replaced Allen after 79 minutes and got behind Penn FC’s line multiple times. Set up Winn’s goal, and should have had an assist in stoppage time with a brilliant ball across the box that Winn couldn’t tap into an empty net. Good showing.
