Nashville SC Player Ratings v. Charlotte

MANAGER RATING – Gary Smith – 6.0: Decided not to rotate as much as expected, and it really hurt the team in the first half. Made two positive changes at halftime and sent out a much-improved team after the break, but this team should not drop points like this and consistently does.

Matt Pickens – 7.5: Had a fairly quiet night despite the score line, only having to deal with three shots on target. Made two big saves and wasn’t at fault for Charlotte’s goal. Completed a cool 86.7 percent of his passes, which is always nice for a ‘keeper.

Kosuke Kimura – 7.5: Another solid showing from the 34 year old. Completed 92.9 percent of his passes, made several key tackles, and was always an outlet in possession. Taken hit hard by Caleb Calvert in stoppage time, who was deservedly sent off. Quite possibly Nashville’s most fit player.

London Woodberry – 6.5: Overall had a solid night, but completely lost Kevan George in the chaos following a Charlotte free kick, and gifted George the space to volley into an empty net. A disappointing lapse in concentration.

Liam Doyle – 7.0: Pretty sound defensively and didn’t give Charlotte much going forward, blocking a shot and making three interceptions.

Justin Davis – 6.5: A really quiet night by his standards. Johnson and Areman kept him pinned back and he never really got involved going forward.

Matt LaGrassa – 6.0: Played on the right again, and didn’t look comfortable. Only completed seven passes in Charlotte’s half and never managed a shot. Rightfully taken off at halftime in favor of Alan Winn.

Michael Reed – 7.0: Worked hard to make things happen, but none of it quite came off. Had a great chance from close range in stoppage time, but put his shot straight at the keeper.

Bolu Akinyode – 8.0: Did his job, completing 90.9 percent of his passes, winning three tackles and four aerial duels. Consistently performs his role in this team.

Taylor Washington – 7.0: Worked hard. Put in four crosses and created a chance, but didn’t have a ton to aim at in the box and the end product wasn’t quite there. Replaced by Jome after 70 minutes.

Lebo Moloto – 8.0: Again, Nashville’s best player on the night. Consistently tried to make things happen for Nashville, creating seven chances but couldn’t find a breakthrough.

Brandon Allen – 5.5: Never looked up for it. Didn’t take a shot, didn’t get a touch in Charlotte’s box, and taken off for Mensah at halftime.

Alan Winn – 7.0: Brought a ton of energy coming in at halftime. Drifted centrally to find space and looked dangerous. Created a chance, but only managed one shot when he needed to do more.

Ropapa Mensah – 6.5: Brought a lot more pace up front and was much more involved than Allen, taking three shots and getting seven touches in Charlotte’s box. Hit the bar late in the game, but really should have finished more efficiently.

Ish Jome – 6.0: Replaced Washington for the final 20 minutes plus stoppage time, but wasn’t really effective. Got in good spots but lost the ball far too easily in the final third. Completely wasted a free kick from a dangerous spot, sending it 15 yards over the bar. Disappointing.
