Nashville SC announced Wednesday that it has completed the signings of Blake Levine and former MLS winger/forward Kris Tyrpak. Both players will bring more attacking options for Nashville to call upon. Both moves are pending league and federation approval.
Here’s a small sample of what Tyrpak will bring to Nashville.
Tyrpak recently completed his season with National Premier League Soccer side Miami FC, with the South Beach club lifted the NPSL championship. However, Nipun Chopra recently reported that several Miami FC players, including Tyrpak, were planning on leaving the club at the conclusion of their season.
“If you look at Kris’ background, he provides a couple of things that coming into the last stages of the season can help us push for a playoff spot,” said Nashville SC Gary Smith.
“He has good experience at this level, and as a predominately wide midfielder, his goal-scoring record is pretty decent. It’s the goals and the ability to be part of a creative moment that we may well need going into the final stretch. He has a fabulous left foot. My hope is he can get in the side and be a threat in front of goal and he can improve the offense that has been under the microscope lately.”
The former Chivas USA draft pick has had stops on a multitude of teams, including two stints at Austin Aztex, San Antonio Scorpions, Swope Park Rangers (including one appearance for parent club Sporting KC), and San Antonio FC, before landing in Miami. Between 2012-2018, He has 47 goals to his name on 130 total appearances.
Nashville SC has also announced the signing of former Inter Nashville player Blake Levine. Levine made four appearances for Inter, scoring twice.
“Blake’s an honest and genuine young player,” said Smith. “He has some lovely technical ability. It’s his first opportunity in a professional environment. If he can harness some of his abilities, he can carve out a future for himself at this club.”
Both new acquisitions will be available to play in Nashville SC’s home match Friday against Ottawa Fury FC.
